What brings people here
Trauma
Trauma can live in the body long after the event has passed. Together we build safety first, then gently work through what has been carried, using EMDR and somatic practices when they fit.
Anxiety & depression
We look at the patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior that keep you stuck, and practice skills from CBT and DBT that help you respond differently.
Generational trauma
Many of us inherit survival strategies that once protected our families. We explore where they come from with compassion, and make room for something new.
First-generation stress
Being first can mean holding pride and guilt at the same time. We work on self-esteem, self-advocacy, and finding a balance between where you come from and where you're going.
Emotional regulation
Using DBT skills and mind-body awareness, we strengthen your ability to notice what you feel, tolerate distress, and respond in ways that match your values.
Life transitions
Even wanted changes can be disorienting. Therapy offers a steady place to make sense of what's shifting and who you're becoming.

How we'll work together
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they feel less charged. I have completed EMDRIA-approved training.
DBT & CBT
Practical, skills-based approaches for managing difficult emotions, shifting unhelpful thought patterns, and building healthier ways of coping.
Somatic practices
Gentle mind-body work that helps you notice and respond to what's happening in your body, a key part of healing from trauma.
Trauma-informed care
Every session is grounded in safety, choice, and collaboration. You set the pace, and nothing is rushed.

Questions
Frequently asked
What does LMFT mean?
LMFT stands for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I'm licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, LMFT #165393.
Do you offer sessions in Spanish?
Yes. Sessions are available in English or Spanish, or a mix of both, whatever feels most natural to you.
What is EMDR, and is it right for me?
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps reduce the emotional intensity of painful memories. Not everyone starts with EMDR. We'll talk together about whether and when it makes sense for your goals.
What happens during a consultation?
A consultation is a short conversation to talk about what's bringing you to therapy, answer your questions, and see whether we're a good fit. There's no pressure to commit.
How long are sessions, and how often do we meet?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Most people begin weekly, and we adjust the rhythm together as your needs change.
What are your fees? Do you take insurance?
Please reach out for current rates and payment options. I'm happy to talk through what works for you during your consultation.
Have a question that isn't here?
Reach out and I'll get back to you. A consultation is a good place to ask anything.
